Better Than Ezra’s Kevin Griffin held a Facebook Live concert enabling the Donate feature. More than 5,000 viewers tuned in live and together they reached $42,000 in donations to MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund providing critical support for music industry folks in need.

“I had modest expectations, thinking I’d get $5-6k raised, I was blown away when we raised over $40k in an hour, and the money is still coming. I’ve been a fan of MusiCares since I saw how visible they were in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. I’ve had MusiCares as one of Pilgrimage Festival’s charities since day one…that going on for 6 years now. I’ve seen the real, tangible benefits that they bring to people in the music community. The money raised is going directly to the MusiCares Covid 19 fund.”

I like seeing stories like this because they show musicians stepping up for their own community when people behind the scenes are hurting, and that part of the industry does not always get enough attention. It also says something about how much music depends on real support systems, not only talent. That is why Visit website feels relevant here. For producers and musicians, working with real recordings and stems they can sample legally gives the creative process a stronger foundation instead of adding more friction to it.
